Staalvuur is a fully stainless steel braai, from the grid to the frame — engineered with an adjustable, height-set grid and sealed-bearing wheels, so it moves easily, cooks evenly, and resists rust far better than mild steel.
Staalvuur's design is patent-protected. If it isn't from us, it's a knock-off — same look, none of the engineering, and none of the guarantee.
Every panel, bolt, mesh and wheel bracket on the Staalvuur is stainless steel — not a painted mild-steel frame with a stainless top. It's the difference between a braai you replace and one you hand down.
Body, frame, legs and grid — all stainless steel, inside and out. Nothing to flake or bleed rust onto your patio.
Wheels run on proper bearings, not bushings — so the braai rolls smoothly across paving for years, not months.
Raise the mesh to cool the fire, drop it to sear — the grid lifts and locks at the height your coals call for.
The grid lifts straight out, so both the grid and the braai body are quick to clean — no scrubbing around a fixed mesh.
Quick, straightforward self-assembly with nothing more than an Allen key — from box to braai-ready on the patio in one sitting. Prefer not to? Assembly can be arranged on request.
The side tray isn't fixed — it hooks into the frame, so you can lift it off entirely when it's not needed.
Made from Grade 430 stainless steel — far more resistant to rust than painted or mild steel. In direct coastal air, an occasional rinse keeps it looking its best.
Adjustable stainless feet let you level the braai on uneven paving, so the grid always sits flat over the coals.
Built-in breather holes feed the coals a steady flow of air, so the fire breathes properly and holds its heat without constant fanning.
The whole grid tilts up and away from the coal bed on a stainless hinge arm, so you can build or bank the fire without lifting food off the grid. Set it low for a hard sear, or high to hold a slow, even heat for a whole shoulder or a side of fish. The grid also lifts straight out for cleaning, so nothing about the braai is hard to reach.
The side tray isn't fixed to the frame — it hooks in, giving you a landing spot for tongs, plates and marinade, and lifts off entirely when you don't need it.
The standard build — full stainless steel, adjustable removable grid (695 × 497mm), sealed bearing wheels.
More cooking area for bigger gatherings — grid size 905 × 590mm, same stainless build and hardware throughout.
The braai can be shipped nationwide via The Courier Guy — cost quoted on enquiry based on your location. Prefer to save on delivery? Collect it directly from our warehouse in Alberton.
Staalvuur is made from Grade 430 stainless steel — a real step up from the painted or mild steel most braais use, which rust through the seams within a season or two. Grade 430 isn't a marine-grade steel, though, so in direct sea air it can pick up light surface staining over time. Rinse it down after a salty day and it'll keep looking sharp for years.
We're appointing a limited number of resellers across South Africa — each given an exclusive area mandate, so you're not competing with another Staalvuur stockist on your own turf. If you're in outdoor living, hardware, or patio retail and want to stock the original patio braai, get in touch.
